My Background in Design

Over the years, I have worked on diverse projects that range from web and mobile applications to branding and user experience design.

My approach combines research, creativity, and attention to detail to create designs that are both functional and visually compelling. From learning the basics of design to pushing the boundaries of creativity.

I aim to continue solving complex design challenges by integrating my growing understanding of human behavior with cutting-edge design practices. I am expanding my expertise by working with forward-thinking clients to create innovative–and very cool–user-centered products.


Design Philosophy

Great design is a harmonious blend of strategy, empathy, and innovation. Design should simplify complexity, enhance usability, and create meaningful interactions that align with business goals and user needs.

My approach is rooted in human-centered design, leveraging research, iteration, and data-driven insights to craft intuitive experiences that solve real problems.

I am passionate about service design, ensuring that every touchpoint contributes to a seamless, cohesive, and positive customer/user experience. Above all, I believe design should be impactful, accessible, and built for the future.

Collaboration is essential. The best work happens when engineers, product managers, and stakeholders are involved early and often, with rapid iteration driven by feedback.

Improvement is ongoing. Roadmaps should leave space for experimentation, testing, and iteration, with a focus on learning and growth.

I grew up in Texas, studied at UT Austin (BS in Advertising), University of Dallas (MBA), and SMU, Dallas (UX Design Certification), and also worked as a professional actor in Los Angeles for 10 years.

In 1999, I began my career as a web designer at the startup mall.com in Austin. I later worked for an agency before moving to Dallas to join the Corporate FedEx Office.

I spent 12 years at RealPage as a multimedia developer and motion graphics artist. After earning my MBA, I worked at Ruby Red Frog, a digital agency with clients like King's Hawaiian, Sara Lee Deli, Hotels.com, and Bryan Foods, before embarking on my career as a service design/UX consultant.

Research Philosophy

Research uncovers the “why” behind behavior—needs, motivations, and barriers that data alone misses. My approach, grounded in empathy, curiosity, and strategy, ensures research informs design, product direction, and business decisions. I make research accessible, actionable, and inclusive—using interviews, journey maps, usability studies, and data triangulation to clarify user needs.

The best insights arise when researchers, designers, engineers, and product partners collaborate early, co-own questions, and drive discovery together, fostering alignment and innovation. I combine qualitative and quantitative methods to capture nuance, especially in complex systems like FinTech and enterprise SaaS. Above all, research must fuel momentum: findings are synthesized, shared, and embedded into roadmaps as an ongoing dialogue with users.
